About Us

History
Restoration House of Northern Michigan began with Carol VanRandwyk Frazier's desire to make a difference in the lives of girls and women impacted by abuse, neglect, and trauma. Because of her own painful history, Carol has a heart for these women. Her husband, Tom Frazier, shares and supports her vision and loves to restore older homes. When the Fraziers discovered an 8-bedroom historic home for sale in Northern Michigan, God knit their passions together into the dream of opening the Restoration House ministry.
Building a Team
The Fraziers bought the home in January 2021 and began making needed repairs. They also asked their church in Lansing, Michigan, to help them organize a formal ministry. The Restoration House of Northern Michigan Board was formed in December 2021 and elected officers in February 2022. This enthusiastic group then began taking active steps toward designing and launching the ministry.
The Fraziers and the Restoration House of Northern Michigan Board have focused on repairing the house for future occupation, bringing it up to code, and researching similar ministries in other communities.

Brief Statement of Faith
We believe in the Biblical Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe our heavenly Father has uniquely designed every human being and wants us to have joyful, purposeful lives. We believe Jesus died on our behalf, atoning for our sins and allowing us to have an open and loving relationship with God. We believe the Holy Spirit fills us and empowers us to carry out the plans God designed us for.
At the same time, we welcome women of all faiths, or even without faith, and will not pressure or manipulate any young woman to believe what we do. Instead, we will gently and respectfully share our beliefs without judgment, always willing to guide and support our program participants in figuring out for themselves what their best lives will look like.
