Restoration House of Northern Michigan
Spiritual and Relational Wholeness (HEALING)
Everyone experiences difficulties in life. Trauma and pain leave their marks on us all. That's why you will find lots of tools to help you heal at Restoration House. We plan to provide trauma-informed counseling; mentoring and friendship; access to addiction recovery communities; and faith-based activities and studies designed to build health and resilience.

Ultimately, we believe healing comes through a whole and healthy relationship with God, with ourselves, and with others. We believe it is possible to embrace our life circumstances as they are, while also making choices that build our resilience and may even change those circumstances. We look forward to walking with you as you find your path to spiritual, emotional, and relational wholeness.
Peace with God
Life can be painful, but you can find a deep sense of peace through a relationship with God. This peace goes beyond human understanding, and it can give us comfort in hard times and help us sort out our thoughts and feelings.
That's why, at Restoration House, you will have the opportunity to learn who Jesus is and find out about the full life He offers -- we hope you will find your way to Jesus, but we will never judge you or pressure you to believe!
Peace with Yourself
Sometimes it's easier to love others than it is to love ourselves. When we have been told we are worthless, often through the words and actions of people who we thought would love us, we can absorb those messages and start believing them. And we can't really love others well when we don't love ourselves.

God, who created you, believes you have incredible value and worth. At Restoration House, we will provide counseling, friendship, and studies designed to help you see how unique and precious you are, and the life purpose only you can fill!
Peace with Others
We were made to live in relationship with others, and at Restoration House you will have housemates, a House Mom, and a Life Coach to interact with. Together we will learn about how to relate to others in healthy and mutually supportive ways!

You'll also have the opportunity to get involved in the community, making new friends as you serve others through the community group of your choice. And finally, you will learn how to build a support team -- the people you can rely on in times of stress, and who can in turn rely on you.
A Resilient Life
Life is filled with both joys and sorrows. It's a balancing act to try to accept what we can't control and choose to change what we can.

While you can't always control what life brings your way, you can choose your responses. You can gain the tools that help you roll with life as it happens, but also keep growing through the challenges. These tools will serve you well in every aspect of life -- at home, at work, in the community -- everywhere you go.
